Meet the members and allies of Expedition 33, each carrying their own burden, purpose, and connection to the journey beyond Lumière.

Gustave

Gustave is a devoted engineer turned Expeditioner who dedicates his life to battling the Paintress for the future of Lumière.

He grew up feeling suffocated by the Paintress' constant presence over Lumière. As an engineer, he has dedicated his life to the city's defence and agricultural systems, striving to protect and provide for his people.

Maelle

Maelle joins the Expedition not only because of its mission, but because it offers her a chance to escape Lumière and discover a life beyond the city that never felt like home.

Orphaned at age 3, Maelle has difficulty connecting with and trusting others, though she has come to appreciate her foster brother Gustave. At 16, she is younger than the other Expeditioners and sees the journey as a chance to forge her own destiny.

Lune

Lune bears the burden of her parents' legacy and the Expedition's success as she seeks to unravel the mystery of the Paintress.

The daughter of prominent researchers, Lune has a deep thirst for knowledge and has sacrificed everything to complete her parents’ work. Entrusted with charting a path for the Expedition, she feels the full weight of responsibility and cannot allow the mission to fail.

Sciel

Sciel is a warm and outgoing farmer turned teacher who accepts life's brutality with a smile that hides a dark past.

She enjoys life day by day and is at ease with death, having long accepted the harsh reality of the world around her.

Esquie

Esquie is one of the Expedition’s most unusual allies, bringing a strange charm and an important role in the group’s journey across the world.

His connection to exploration makes him a memorable companion as the Expedition pushes further beyond familiar lands.

Verso

Verso is a mysterious outsider who keeps watch on the Expedition.

His presence adds uncertainty and intrigue to the journey, making him one of the more enigmatic figures connected to the group.

Monoco

Monoco is a scholarly yet bloodthirsty Gestral who joins the Expedition for the sheer thrill of battle, embracing combat as meditation.

As one of the few Gestrals who speak the human language, Monoco has adopted a scholarly demeanour that hides a fierce fighting spirit. Though Gestrals are untouched by the Paintress, the prospect of combat entices him to join the Expedition.
